Relief for a jaw that aches, clicks, or clenches.
We find what's driving your jaw pain and treat it conservatively, from a custom guard to therapeutic Botox.
Common signs of a TMJ issue
Jaw pain or tightness, clicking or popping when you open, frequent tension headaches, ear or temple soreness, or difficulty opening wide. Many people also grind or clench, which feeds the cycle.
How we treat it
We begin with the least invasive options that fit your case. A custom night guard relieves clenching and protects your teeth. Therapeutic Botox can relax overactive jaw muscles (the masseters), and the trapezius muscles in the neck and shoulders when tension radiates there, to ease pain and clenching. It's placed by Dr. Kim, who is AAFE-trained in facial anatomy. We'll also look at your bite and occlusion and habits, and adjust uneven contacts with occlusal equilibration when it helps.
Therapeutic, not cosmetic
This is Botox for jaw pain and clenching, which is different from cosmetic Botox. We'll set honest expectations and only recommend what's likely to help.
