Small adjustments so your bite meets evenly.
When a few high spots throw off your bite, reshaping them can ease clenching, wear, and jaw tension.
When it helps
If your bite feels off after dental work, if certain teeth hit first, or if clenching and wear trace back to uneven contact, equilibration can help your jaw muscles relax and your teeth share the load.
What to expect
We mark where your teeth touch, then polish away the high spots in small steps, checking as we go. It's a light reshaping of the enamel surface, not drilling into healthy tooth, and most people feel the difference quickly. It pairs well with a night guard and, for jaw muscle pain, TMJ treatment.
Part of a bigger plan
For heavily worn or rebuilt bites, equilibration is often one step within full mouth rehabilitation or alongside new crowns.
