What to expect
You'll take the medication as directed before your appointment, so you arrive already relaxed. You stay conscious and able to respond, but many patients feel drowsy and remember little of the visit. We monitor you throughout.
Plan for a ride
Because the medication lingers, you'll need someone to drive you to and from your appointment. If you'd prefer something that clears quickly, nitrous oxide may be the better choice.
