Signs you may need a root canal
Lingering tooth pain, sensitivity to hot or cold that doesn't fade, pain when chewing, swelling near a tooth, or a darkening tooth. These can signal infection in the pulp. If you're in pain now, it may be a dental emergency.
What the visit is actually like
We numb the tooth completely, then remove the infection and seal the inside while you relax with a ceiling TV. Most patients tell us it felt no worse than a filling. The relief usually starts the same day.
Protecting the tooth afterward
A treated tooth is more brittle, so we usually finish with a dental crown to protect it for the long run.
